Using carefully-sourced ingredients from France (Flour & Butter) and making everything from scratch, Le Petit Four is committed to producing the highest quality baked goods. Le Petit Four is also known for bridging the gap between bakery and drinks. Most recently, Le Petit Four Bakery created one of the best viral Crème Brûlée Latte in Greater Boston. Full Job Description:

In this role, you will learn from some of the best bakers, you will be taught artisan bread and baking techniques, and how to work in a traditional french bakery. You will be mixing, dividing, shaping, proofing, baking doughs such as brioche ,croissant, bread, challah , focaccia, kouign-amann and more. Under the head chef, you will be responsible for daily Bread production and develop our snaking program for our store(s) and our brand new catering menu. If you have:

A desire to help where needed and work as part of a team
Possess a passion for baking with a keen eye for freshness, quality and cleanliness
Have flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, holidays.
have at least 2-4 years of experience successfully working in a fast-paced kitchen

Summary of Baker’s Primary Responsibilities

· Dough Preparation: Measure, mix, knead, and shape dough according to traditional and modern recipes.

· Fermentation Management: Monitor the critical stages of dough fermentation and proofing to ensure proper flavor and texture development.

· Baking Operations: Operate and maintain commercial baking equipment, including mixers, dough sheeters, and deck ovens.

· Quality Control: Monitor oven temperatures and baking times to achieve the perfect crust, crumb, and color.

Sanitation & Safety: Follow strict food safety guidelines, clean equipment, and maintain a sterile workspace. Maintaining a clean, orderly, and sanitized kitchen

· Inventory Management: Monitor supply levels, order raw materials (flour, yeast, butter), and organize storage, label and stock ingredients.

Learn about the baking methods and techniques employed in the kitchen
Other duties as assigned

Essential Functions/Working Conditions for all Positions

Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of baking science, including hydration levels, yeast behavior, and fermentation techniques
Time Management: Must be highly organized, as baking often begins very early in the morning or late at night to have fresh bread ready for morning
Attention to Detail: Precision in weighing ingredients and monitoring cooking times is crucial for consistency
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Able to grasp and reach overhead- Must be able to lift, move, and carry 50+lbs
Must be able to work 8+ hours a day on feet
ServSafe Certification is a plus
