Essential Job Duties:
1. Deliver loads and place materials on job sites for customer orders, including hand unloading according to delivery tickets assigned by management. Manual labor required.
2. Verify materials being delivered are in good condition, and reflect materials listed on delivery tickets.
3. Follow delivery instructions as received by your supervisor.
4. Conduct daily inspections of delivery truck as required by company policy.
5. Check the boom, cables, and any lifting equipment for any signs of wear or damage.
6. Park the boom truck in a suitable location where it can safely extend its boom to reach the loading area.
- Coordinate with helpers: Communicate with the loading crew to ensure they have the materials ready and know where to load them onto the truck.
- Secure the Load: Use straps or chains to secure the materials to the truck bed, ensuring they are stable during transport.
7. Carefully extend the boom to reach the loading area. Make sure there are no obstructions and that the area is clear. Use the controls to maneuver the boom and lift the materials onto the truck bed. Make sure to lift them evenly to maintain balance.
8. Ensure safe operation of truck and equipment.
9. Must be able to follow all company safety policies and procedures, while wearing provided Personal Protective Equipment.
10. Always follow manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols for operating the boom truck. Use proper lifting techniques and equipment to avoid accidents and injuries. Be aware of overhead power lines and other potential hazards when extending the boom.
11. Communicate effectively with the loading and unloading helpers to prevent accidents.
12. Strap down and secure loads and check all material for damage before leaving the yard and between drops on journeys.
13. Product knowledge is helpful, however, willing to train the right candidate.
14. Maintain neat and professional look of equipment, work areas and personal appearance.
10. Complies with Company’s attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
11. Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Active CDL Class A or B license
- Minimum 1 year Boom truck operating experience preferred.
- Knowledge of building materials preferred, willing to train the right candidate.
- Ability to lift 50-80 pounds
- Ability to carry sheetrock/drywall with additional assistance
- Must possess a valid DOT Medical card, and be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test, driving record check, supervisory references and criminal background check.
- Must be willing to obtain a Hoisting 1C License (Company paid)
- Must be willing to operate Automatic and Standard Vehicles
- Hourly rate based on experience.
