Full Job Description

**SIGN-ON BONUS**

The successful candidate will receive a $1,000 sign-on bonus ($500 paid at time of hire and $500 paid at the end of 90 days of employment.

Reporting to the Assistant Director for Enterprise Applications and Data Analytics, the Business Intelligence Developer bridges technical development and business insight by designing, building, and maintaining data solutions that empower decision-making across the institution.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Build and maintain dashboards and reports using modern BI tools to provide actionable insights for business stakeholders;
Design, develop, and maintain robust SQL-based data pipelines and transformations to support analytics and reporting needs;
Design and implement ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) processes and ensures data integrity across multiple systems;
Collaborate with departments to understand business workflows and translates requirements into technical solutions;
Develop and support applications and interfaces that integrate with ERP and other enterprise systems;
Analyze business processes and recommend improvements based on data insights;
Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and provide training/documentation as needed;
Test and validate new features, upgrades, and data processes;
Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field is required
3-5 years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, analytics, or application development is required; experience in an academic environment is highly desired
Strong proficiency in SQL, data modeling and data transformation techniques (CTEs, window functions, procedures functions, query optimization, etc.) to support analytics workflows
Strong data storytelling skills with experience building dashboards and reports that deliver actionable insights to business stakeholders
Business acumen with the ability to integrate data across multiple systems and align solutions to organizational decision-making needs
Experience with relational and non-relational databases
Experience with BI/dashboard tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Domo, SAP Crystal Reports)
Experience with Microsoft Fabric or equivalent cloud data platform preferred
Familiarity with ERP systems and integration methodologies
Experience with version control (git, GitHub)
Strong initiative and the ability to be self-directed, resourceful and creative
Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
Strong customer service orientation, teamwork and collaborative mindset
Eager to master new and emerging technologies, including AI and cloud data platforms
Python experience preferred (eg pandas, duckdb, polars)
Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and modern web technologies
Experience trouble-shooting problems caused by programming bugs, data anomalies, and system errors
Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion, and to serving the needs of a diverse community

Physical Job Demands

Close visual acuity to analyze data and figures and view a computer monitor
Ability to sustain substantial movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers; or to dictate instructions to a computer
Ability to sit or stand at a desk or table for extended periods of time
Light Physical Requirements, which include exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects

Working Conditions

The worker is mainly in an office environment and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
