About Massachusetts Peace Action:
We struggle for peace at home and abroad. The racism that fuels injustice at home justifies wars abroad. The violence that maintains white supremacy at home does the same abroad. Bombs and bullets are not the only threat to peace. Racism directed at Black and Brown people, whether they are from the Middle East, Latin America, Africa, or Asia, is used to justify fear, endless war, and oppression. Economic injustice keeps a few people and a few countries rich and destroys the planet, while many countries suffer. Peace is a bridge between all the movements for social change, a common foundation that connects movements that resist violence of all kinds. In today's rising social justice movement, peace plays an indispensable part.
Join us as we build peace as the vehicle for driving holistic social change in our world. MAPA is the largest grassroots peace organization in Massachusetts, with approximately 1,800 members and 15,000 online supporters. We work for peace and justice at home and abroad through grassroots organizing, educational programs, elections, and legislative advocacy.
We are hiring a part-time Operations Specialist to help us keep our finances, databases, and materials running smoothly as we strive to end and prevent wars, abolish nuclear weapons, challenge the military-industrial complex and advocate for a redistribution of resources from military spending to human needs to create a more just and equitable society.
