Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Benefits Manager to oversee the administration and development of employee benefit programs within our organization. This pivotal role involves managing benefits operations, ensuring compliance with employment and labor laws, and fostering positive employee relations through effective benefits communication. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of benefits administration, and regulatory requirements, contributing to our commitment to supporting a motivated and well-informed workforce.

Duties

Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of comprehensive employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
Oversee benefits administration processes.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws such as FMLA, HIPAA, Medicare regulations, COBRA and other employment law requirements.
Manage benefits-related data collection, analysis, and reporting using HRIS platforms to inform decision-making.
Collaborate with insurance providers and vendors to negotiate contracts and maintain advantageous terms for the organization.
Conduct employee orientation sessions on benefits offerings and assist with employee evaluation processes related to benefits.
Stay current on regulatory changes affecting benefits programs and prepare necessary reports for regulatory agencies.
Facilitate training and development initiatives for HR staff on benefits policies and procedures.
Handle employee inquiries regarding benefits options, claims processing, workers' compensation claims, and other related issues with professionalism.
Manage the open enrollment process.

Skills

5+ years of experience with benefits administration practices combined with experience in human resources management.
Strong understanding of employment & labor law regulations such as FMLA, HIPAA, Medicare compliance, and regulatory reporting standards.
Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) capable of clearly explaining complex benefits information to diverse audiences.
Negotiation skills for contract discussions with insurance providers and vendors.
Data analysis skills for interpreting benefits utilization trends and preparing reports.
Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
Knowledge of legal contracts related to employee benefits and experience in employee relations.
Strong attention to detail with an ability to prioritize

Pay: $120,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year

Experience:

Benefits administration: 5 years (Required)
people management: 3 years (Preferred)
Vendor management: 5 years (Preferred)

Work Location: In person
