Senior Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: Worcester, MA (Fully Onsite)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Pay Rate: $23-$25/hour
Position Type: Direct Hire/Permanent

About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable professional to join their Accounting team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, payments, and expense reimbursements while maintaining strong vendor relationships and supporting daily accounting operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dependable accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working with invoice processing, vendor management, and payment administration.

Key Responsibilities

Process and voucher vendor invoices, including three-way matching of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices.
Review, code, and process non-purchase order invoices.
Assist with weekly check runs and wire payment processing.
Process vendor credit memos and maintain accurate records.
Track and maintain vendor prepayment information.
Communicate with vendors to resolve invoice and payment discrepancies.
Review employee expense reimbursement requests for policy compliance and proper accounting treatment.
Maintain accurate records and support month-end accounting activities as needed.
Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
5-7 years of Accounts Payable or related accounting experience.
Experience with invoice processing, vendor payments, and account reconciliation.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Proficiency with ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and general accounting software.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Work Environment

Fully onsite position in Worcester, MA.
Professional office environment.
Primarily desk-based work requiring extended periods of computer use.
Some areas of the facility may not be climate controlled.

Additional Information

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
Drug and background screening required (THC is not a disqualifier).
