In this position you will plan and carry out a wide variety of mission support duties for the Field Office relative to logistics,
procurement, fleet management, and associated functions.
This position starts at a salary of $84,579.00 (GS-11, Step 1) to $131,790.00 (GS-12, Step 10) with promotion potential to $131,790.00 (GS-12 Step 10).
As Mission Support Specialist Logistics your duties may include:
- Conducting inventories and records management in accordance with local and higher headquarters directives and preparing various property reports.
- Reviewing bills on a monthly basis to prevent overcharging and misuse, and ensuring appropriate forms are completed for Personnel Equipment.
- Researching suppliers and working with requesters to procure goods/services, then preparing required document and submitting for approval.
- Performing basic supplies research and performing basic tasks associated with creating requisitions and forwarding for approval. Identifying inventory deficiencies and restocking supplies as needed.
- Coordinating facilitates repairs and ensuring facility repairs requests are recorded into the facilities management system.

GS 11 Experience: You qualify for the GS-11 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
- Working with a senior Mission Support Specialist on logistics, procurement, inventory, fleet management and other associated functions.
- Proficient with standard computer tools (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook, etc.) to develop and maintain various electronic files and create inventory reports, work processing documents, presentations, and spreadsheets.
- Resolve routine aspects of mission support work in accordance with established procedures.
- Communicate orally and in writing with all levels of management and employees.
- Analyze and evaluate information in order to determine accuracy and make recommendations to improve operations.
Education Substitution: GS-11:
- You may substitute a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement .Part-time graduate education is creditable in accordance with its relationship to a year of full-time study at the school attended.
GS-12 Experience: You qualify at the
GS-12 level if you possess one year of specialized experience that equipped you with the skills needed to perform the job duties such as:
- Planning and carrying out a wide variety of mission support duties relative to logistics, procurement, fleet management, and other associated functions.
- Providing local agency direction and facilitating the creating, accepting, modifying, and transferring of property records in accordance with directives.
- Researching suppliers and working with requesters to procure goods and/or services, then preparing required documentation to submit to senior Mission Support Specialist or leadership.
- Executing purchases, conducting reconciliation, and maintaining documentation as directed by the Purchase Card Manual.
- Conducting various activities within the agency's Fleet card program to include ordering cards, running reports, and reporting fraud.
- Planning for facility repairs and ensuring facility repairs requests are recorded into the facilities management system.

Education Substitution: GS-11: You may substitute a Ph.D., an equivalent doctoral degree, or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a qualifying field for experience at the GS-11 grade level or an LL.M., if related. Such education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. Check with your school to determine how many credit hours comprise three years of graduate study. If that information is not available, use 54 semester or 81 quarter hours
Combining Education and Experience: To combine your education and experience, convert each to a percentage and then add the percentages. If your education is described in quarter hours, multiply by the fraction 2/3 to convert into semester hours, then divide the semester hours by 18. To determine your percentage of qualifying experience, divide your total months of experience by the required number of months of experience. Add your percentages together. The total must equal at least 100% in order to qualify. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify for positions at grade GS-11.
There is no education substitution for the GS-12 grade level.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
You must:
- Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and
