Full Job Description

Outpatient Mental Health Clinic Receptionist/Secretary/Billing assistant

This position is currently Part-time/PRN (day time hours only M-F between 8am & 430pm) with the possibility of becoming full time or moving to different positions in the company. This position is responsible for filling in for the daily management of the SCCS Outpatient Mental Health Clinic front desk operations. This position requires face to face as well as telephone interactions with persons coming in for services, SCCS counselors and Clinicians as well as any other professional staff. This position will also answer phones, schedule appointments and work cooperatively with all SCCS co-workers. This position requires computer skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to; assisting billing personnel in the collection of proof of income, insurance and other coverage cards as needed.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Greet and assist clients and visitors with professionalism and warmth.
Manage incoming calls and direct them to appropriate personnel.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Schedule appointments and manage calendars for staff members.
Assist with medical billing and collections as needed.
Knowledge of computer operating systems
Microsoft Word and Excel experience required
Must be able to learn CIS (SCCS clinical electronic records)
Bookkeeping experience preferred
Organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy Coordinate communication between departments to ensure efficient workflow.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required ; additional certification in medical administration is a plus.
Phone skills
Excellent listening skills
Data entry skills
Knowledge of call center telephony and technology
Excellent people skills
Strong understanding of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred.

Requirements:

Ability to read, write and speak English clearly and concisely.
Strong communication skills
Ability to pass extensive background check
At least one year of billing experience preferred

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
