Senior Technical Sales Representative – Industrial Spray Booth & Finishing Equipment
Territory: Northern Indiana | Southern Michigan | Northwest Ohio (Tri-State Region)
TTG Staffing Solutions is conducting a confidential search on behalf of one of our clients.
Our client is an established leader in the industrial finishing industry and is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Sales Representative to develop and grow a multi-state territory throughout Northern Indiana, Southern Michigan, and Northwest Ohio.
This is a consultative, relationship-driven sales role focused on helping manufacturers improve their finishing operations through spray booths, paint finishing systems, compressed air solutions, application equipment, powder coating systems, and other industrial finishing technologies.
This is not an entry-level sales position. We are seeking an industry professional who already understands the coatings and finishing industry—either through hands-on experience or by currently selling products and services within the industrial or automotive coatings market.
If you enjoy solving complex manufacturing challenges, building long-term customer relationships, and working directly with decision-makers on high-value capital equipment projects, we'd like to speak with you.
About the Opportunity
As the Senior Technical Sales Representative, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the Tri-State region, providing technical expertise and customized finishing solutions for new installations, facility expansions, equipment upgrades, and replacement projects.
You'll work directly with manufacturers, fabrication shops, industrial finishers, automotive and heavy equipment manufacturers, collision centers, and other industrial customers to evaluate their finishing processes and recommend solutions that improve efficiency, product quality, safety, and operational performance.
Success in this role comes from understanding the customer's operation, identifying opportunities for improvement, and becoming a trusted advisor—not simply selling equipment.
This opportunity is best suited for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset who is excited to prove themselves during a structured 3–6 month contract period with the goal of transitioning into a long-term, full-time role.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage customer relationships throughout Northern Indiana, Southern Michigan, and Northwest Ohio.
- Prospect and generate new business through networking, referrals, industry relationships, and customer visits.
- Meet with plant managers, engineers, production managers, maintenance leaders, purchasing professionals, and business owners to evaluate finishing operations.
- Recommend spray booths, paint finishing systems, powder coating equipment, compressed air systems, paint application equipment, and related finishing solutions based on customer needs.
- Conduct facility assessments and identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, throughput, finish quality, safety, and compliance.
- Prepare quotations, proposals, and project recommendations.
- Coordinate with internal engineering, project management, and installation teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Build long-term customer relationships that generate repeat business and referrals.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and accurately document customer activity within the CRM.
- Travel throughout the assigned territory to support customers, manage projects, and grow market share.
