Full Job Description

Description

Bettis Construction is looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support our growing workforce. In this role, you'll ensure employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining payroll records, assisting with reporting, and supporting day-to-day accounting operations. You'll work closely with Human Resources, Accounting, and project teams to help keep our payroll process efficient and compliant.

What You'll Do

Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
Review employee time records and resolve payroll discrepancies.
Maintain payroll records, employee deductions, garnishments, and direct deposit information.
Verify new hire, termination, and compensation changes before payroll processing.
Prepare payroll reports for management and accounting.
Assist with payroll tax filings and year-end reporting.
Respond to employee payroll questions in a timely and professional manner.
Support month-end reconciliations and other accounting tasks as assigned.
Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee information.
Recommend process improvements that increase payroll accuracy and efficiency.

What We're Looking For

Previous payroll, accounting, or bookkeeping experience preferred.
Familiarity with payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Construction industry payroll experience is a plus but not required.
