Automotive Glass Technician
Location: Rio Grande Valley, Texas — RGV-Wide

About the Position
We are looking for a motivated, dependable, and experienced Automotive Glass Technician to join our growing team and service customers throughout the Rio Grande Valley.
This is a field-based position, and the technician will be responsible for traveling throughout the RGV to perform automotive glass removal, installation, and related services at customer, dealership, repair facility, and business locations.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, works well independently, understands the importance of proper glass installation, and provides excellent customer service.
The right person will be more than a technician. You will represent our company in the field and will be expected to build strong relationships with customers and business partners.

Job Responsibilities
Automotive Glass Installation
- Remove and replace automotive windshields and other vehicle glass.
- Remove and reinstall door glass, quarter glass, vent glass, back glass, and other automotive glass.
- Safely remove damaged glass while protecting the vehicle.
- Properly prepare surfaces for new glass installation.
- Apply and work with automotive glass adhesives and urethane systems.
- Properly install moldings, clips, trim, and related components.
- Remove and reinstall interior and exterior components as necessary.
- Inspect replacement glass before installation.
- Verify proper fit, alignment, sealing, and finish.
- Perform water-leak testing when appropriate.
- Inspect completed work before releasing the vehicle.
- Identify additional concerns or damage and communicate them to management.
- Maintain professional workmanship on every vehicle.
Mobile / Field Service
This position will cover the entire Rio Grande Valley and requires a willingness to travel.
Service areas may include:
- McAllen
- Mission
- Edinburg
- Pharr
- San Juan
- Alamo
- Donna
- Weslaco
- Mercedes
- Harlingen
- Brownsville
- Surrounding communities
The technician should be comfortable spending a significant amount of time on the road and working at different locations throughout the Valley.
Responsibilities include:
- Traveling to customer locations.
- Traveling to dealerships and repair facilities.
- Performing mobile glass replacement and installation.
- Managing multiple jobs throughout the workday.
- Communicating arrival times and job status.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work vehicle and workspace.
- Properly securing tools, equipment, glass, and materials.
- Completing required job documentation and photos.
- Managing time efficiently while maintaining quality.
- Representing the company professionally at every location.
Customer Service & Relationship Building
Customer service is a major part of this position.
Our technicians are often the person the customer sees and interacts with. Because of that, professionalism and communication are extremely important.
You will be expected to:

ADAS & Modern Vehicle Technology
Many newer vehicles are equipped with cameras, sensors, and advanced driver-assistance systems that may be integrated into or affected by windshield replacement.
The technician should be able to:
- Identify vehicles equipped with windshield-mounted cameras and sensors.
- Properly remove and reinstall components associated with glass replacement.
- Understand when ADAS calibration may be required.
- Communicate calibration requirements to management.
- Follow appropriate procedures for vehicles equipped with advanced safety systems.
- Understand that improper glass installation can affect vehicle safety systems.
ADAS experience or calibration knowledge is a strong plus but is not required for the right candidate who is willing to learn.
Qualifications
Required
- Previous automotive glass installation experience preferred.
- Ability to safely remove and install automotive glass.
- Valid driver's license.
- Responsible driving history.
- Ability to travel throughout the Rio Grande Valley.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work extended hours when necessary.
- Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to safely lift and maneuver automotive glass.

- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

- 2+ years of automotive glass installation experience.
- Mobile automotive glass experience.
- Dealership experience.
- Collision repair experience.
- Experience working with insurance related glass claims.
- Experience with OEM glass.
- Experience with urethane and automotive adhesive systems.
- Experience with newer vehicles and advanced safety systems.
- ADAS experience or training.
- Experience working directly with customers and commercial accounts.

Physical Requirements
This position involves significant physical activity.
The technician must be able to:
- Lift and maneuver automotive glass.
- Work standing for extended periods.
- Bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and work in confined areas.
- Work inside and outside vehicles.
- Safely handle tools and equipment.
- Work outdoors in Texas heat and varying weather conditions.
- Safely load and unload glass and equipment.
- Work safely around active repair facilities and moving vehicles.

Experience with professional automotive glass tools and equipment is preferred.
