Full Job Description

About Us:

We are a Texas-based private outpatient clinic specializing in comprehensive wound care, serving patients in long-term care and skilled nursing facilities across the state. We are committed to improving the lives of individuals with chronic and acute wounds through evidence-based treatment and compassionate care.

We are currently seeking an experienced and self-motivated Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our growing team. This position is ideal for providers who enjoy independence, clinical autonomy, and travel.

Position Overview:

The Wound Care PA/NP will travel to assigned nursing homes and long-term care facilities throughout Texas to provide on-site wound assessments, treatments, and follow-up care. You will work closely with facility staff and collaborating physicians to ensure high standards of wound management and healing outcomes.

Responsibilities:

Perform on-site wound assessments, debridement, and treatment procedures
Develop and implement individualized wound care plans in collaboration with facility staff
Accurately document clinical encounters using EMR systems
Monitor wound progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
Educate facility staff and patients on wound prevention and care
Communicate regularly with the supervising physician and care teams
Maintain compliance with HIPAA, infection control, and facility policies

Requirements:

Active and unrestricted Texas license as a PA or NP
National certification (NCCPA for PAs or AANP/ANCC for NPs)
Wound care certification (e.g., WCC, CWCN, CWS) preferred but not required
Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in wound care, geriatrics, or post-acute care
Must be able and willing to travel extensively throughout the RGV
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required
Strong organizational and communication skills
Proficiency with electronic medical records

Compensation and Benefits:

Competitive salary: $100,000 – $125,000 annually (based on experience and qualifications)
Flexible scheduling opportunities available
Note: All travel-related expenses are covered

Work Environment:

This is a hybrid position that requires daily travel to skilled nursing facilities, rehabilitation centers, and long-term care homes throughout assigned regions in the RGV.
The ideal candidate is self-directed, punctual, and enjoys working independently within a supportive clinical structure.
