Job Overview
We are actively seeking skilled X-Ray and CT technologists for a dynamic travel contract opportunity in Birmingham, Alabama. Duties
- Operate radiologic imaging equipment including X-ray, CT, fluoroscopy, mammography, DEXA scans, and nuclear medicine procedures with precision and confidence.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations utilizing advanced modalities such as PET scans, interventional radiography, and ultrasound (sonography).
- Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout imaging procedures by implementing proper aseptic techniques and radiation safety procedures.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to interpret imaging results accurately for emergency room cases, trauma centers (Level I & II), urgent care settings, and specialized departments like interventional radiology.
- Maintain detailed documentation of procedures performed, patient information, and equipment operation logs in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Adhere strictly to radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure risks for patients and staff while maximizing image quality.
- Assist in the training of new staff or students on radiologic imaging techniques and equipment operation as needed.
Requirements
- Valid certification as an X-Ray/CT technologist with current state licensure or registration.
- Proven experience in emergency room settings, trauma centers (preferably Level I or Level II), or urgent care environments.
- Proficiency in operating a broad range of medical imaging equipment including PET scan technology, fluoroscopy units, mammography systems, DEXA scanners, and nuclear medicine devices.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and diagnostic radiology principles.
- Experience with interventional radiology procedures and implementing radiation safety procedures is highly desirable.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent patient care skills with compassionate communication and professionalism.
- Familiarity with medical imaging software systems and maintaining compliance with healthcare standards.
