Full Job Description

Job Summary

The Manager of Quality Engineering will be responsible for identifying supplier and internal manufacturing and development problems and issues. The incumbent will work with management and technical staff in performing root cause failure analysis then suggesting and implementing corrective and preventive actions to preclude recurrence.

Primary Functions and Duties

Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
Develop and Implement Test and Inspection processes for Incoming Materials, Work In Process, and Finished Products, including all necessary validation and qualification activities.
Participate in cross-functional teams at various levels within the organization to develop quality process and controls (i.e. manufacturing and inspection documentation, test methods, etc.)
Identify manufacturing and development constraints. Work with management and technical staff in performing root cause failure analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions to preclude recurrence.
Work independently and with project team members, develop and improve product and processes to reduce variability and increase robustness throughout the development cycle for multiple projects.
Assist in the performance and documentation of internal and external audits in accordance with internal and supplier auditing schedules. Respond to audit findings by proposing and implementing necessary corrective actions.
Responsible for reviewing and verifying non-conforming materials and initiating and following up on associated corrective actions as required.
Meet company and departmental goals in the continuous improvement of all products, services and processes.
Perform final product release activities in accordance with established procedures and production schedules.

Required Qualifications

Associates and/or Bachelors Degree in work related area.
Minimum of 1-3 years supervisory experience (preferred).
Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
Must be detail oriented with well developed organizational skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Computer knowledge in Windows based programs (i.e. Word, Excel, Power point, Access, etc.).
Ability to operate office related equipment (i.e. copier, fax, etc.)
Bilingual English/Spanish (preferred)
Ability to work additional hours, as needed.
