BWI Aviation Insurance is seeking an experienced Commercial Aviation Sales Executive to drive new business growth through prospecting, partnerships, networking, and industry relationships.
This role is designed for a producer who prefers creating opportunities rather than waiting for them. While BWI provides access to leading aviation markets, operational support, and a nationally recognized brand, your primary responsibility is building and growing your own book of commercial aviation business.

The Role
We are seeking a full-time Commercial Aviation Sales Executive to build and grow a commercial aviation book of business and help expand BWI’s Commercial Division.
This is a business development role focused on independently generating new opportunities, building industry relationships, and creating long-term commercial growth.
The ideal candidate has a proven track record of generating their own business, established relationships within aviation or commercial insurance, and the ability to build a strong pipeline without relying on company-provided leads.
What You’ll Do
- Build and grow your own commercial aviation book of business.
- Prospect new commercial aviation accounts.
- Generate new business through direct outreach, referrals, partnerships, and industry relationships.
- Develop and maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified prospects.
- Present and sell insurance policies to prospective commercial aviation clients.
- Develop insurance quotes that align with each client’s operations and coverage needs.
- Follow up consistently with prospects throughout the sales process.
- Build long-term relationships with clients, underwriters, and aviation professionals.
- Attend aviation conferences, trade shows, and networking events.
- Identify new referral sources and business development opportunities.
- Become a recognized aviation insurance resource within your market.
- Help build and grow BWI’s Commercial Division.
Business Development Relationships
Build referral and partnership relationships with:
- Aviation attorneys
- Aircraft brokers
- Aircraft finance companies
- Maintenance facilities
- Charter operators
- Flight schools
- FBOs
- Aircraft owners
- Aviation businesses
- Other aviation-related organizations and professionals
Dedicated Account Management Support
BWI producers are supported by a dedicated Commercial and Senior Account Management Team.
This allows you to focus on revenue-generating activities such as prospecting, building relationships, meeting with prospective clients, closing new business, and growing your book.
Our Account Management Team supports the ongoing servicing of client accounts so you can remain focused on business development and sales.

Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of insurance production experience.
- Active Property and Casualty license.
- Proven success generating business without company-provided leads.
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage a new business pipeline.
- Strong prospecting, networking, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong sales, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.
- Ability to build rapport with clients, underwriters, and industry partners.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple opportunities.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Positive attitude and strong sense of urgency.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Ownership and accountability for completed work.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Timely and professional communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of commercial aviation insurance experience preferred.
- Existing aviation industry relationships.
- Experience working with aircraft owners, charter operators, aircraft brokers, aviation attorneys, finance companies, FBOs, flight schools, maintenance facilities, and other aviation businesses.
- Experience placing commercial aviation risks.
- Established referral relationships within aviation or commercial insurance.
Compensation
- Base Salary: $80,000 to $90,000
- Industry-Leading Commission Structure (40% to 50% of Company Revenue)

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
