Job Summary

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide essential support in both clinical and administrative capacities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. Your expertise will contribute significantly to our mission of enhancing patient experiences and outcomes across various medical settings, including outpatient clinics, urgent care facilities, and hospitals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in medical knowledge and a commitment to patient service.

Duties

Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow in clinical settings.
Perform intake procedures, including obtaining vital signs, medical histories, and documenting patient information accurately in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Experience with eClinical Works is a major plus.
Administer medications as directed by physicians and maintain accurate records of medication administration.
Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries, educating patients about treatment plans, and ensuring comfort during visits.
Support medical administrative functions such as scheduling appointments, managing patient files, and processing insurance claims using appropriate medical terminology.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in various specialties including dermatology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, and geriatrics to deliver comprehensive care.
Conduct basic life support (BLS) procedures when necessary and assist during emergency situations.
Maintain knowledge of anatomy and physiology to effectively communicate with patients regarding their conditions and treatments.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency within the clinic or hospital setting.

Requirements

Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required.
Proficiency in EHR systems and familiarity with ICD coding for accurate documentation.
Experience in hospital medicine or urgent care settings is preferred; exposure to Level I or Level II trauma centers is advantageous.
Knowledge of medical-surgical practices and experience in outpatient clinics is beneficial.
Strong understanding of medical terminology related to various specialties including dermatology, internal medicine, and emergency medicine.
Ability to perform basic clinical tasks such as administering injections, taking vital signs, and phlebotomy / lab / bloodwork is required.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with patients from diverse backgrounds.
Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail in both clinical documentation and administrative tasks.
