About the Company

BeyondEdge Networks is a private network infrastructure software company headquartered in Richardson, Texas. We build orchestration software for datacenter and edge networks. Our team of about 50 people spans corporate operations and a working engineering organization with active lab and product-development environments.

About the Role

We are hiring a Senior IT & Security Administrator to own end-to-end IT operations and cybersecurity for the company. Today, this work is split between an internal team and an outside managed-service provider. We are consolidating it into a single internal role — with the tools, budget, and executive support to do it right.

This is a hands-on senior role. You will run day-to-day operations, own our security posture, and lead the compliance programs required by our partner agreements and insurance obligations. You'll report to the CTO and work closely with the CEO, CFO, and other members of the executive team on security, compliance, and business-continuity matters.

What You'll Own

Day-to-day IT operations

Windows, macOS, and Linux endpoint management for ~66 primary machines, including ~25 Linux developer workstations
Microsoft 365 tenant administration (Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams), licensing, and mailbox management for ~40 users
On-premise servers (approximately 10), virtualization hosts, NAS storage, printers, and lab infrastructure at our Richardson office and Raleigh office
Firewall management, VPN, Wi-Fi, and remote access
Backup operations, offsite backup verification, and periodic restore testing
User onboarding/offboarding, identity provisioning, access reviews, and file-share permissions
JIRA-based Service-desk work: patching, troubleshooting, and end-user support
Vendor management for circuits, software subscriptions, and cloud accounts

Cybersecurity operations

Endpoint protection (EDR/AV) across Windows, macOS, and Linux, including personally owned machines
MFA, identity hardening, and privileged-access controls
Vulnerability management (CVSS-tracked), patch SLAs, and monthly reporting
Email security (anti-phishing, DMARC/DKIM/SPF), security-awareness training, and phishing simulations
Incident response planning, quarterly user attestations, and annual policy reviews
Cyber-insurance evidence and questionnaire responses

Compliance & program work

Operate the security program aligned to our partners' supplier-risk and data-protection frameworks
FOSS compliance: SBOM generation, license detection, and copyleft controls in the build pipeline
Export-compliance support: ECCN tracking, encryption classification, and release controls
AI/ML governance: vendor allow-lists, data-siloing, and GenAI output-labeling policy
Build-integrity: code-signing, supply-chain attestation
Business continuity and disaster-recovery planning, with defined RTO/RPO/WRT targets
Fully maintained documentation of all operations/procedures/periodic activities/responsibilities

Who We're Looking For

Required

8–12 years of progressively senior IT and security administration experience, with a meaningful portion at a small-to-mid-sized company where you owned the environment
Strong Linux administration alongside Windows and macOS
Deep Microsoft 365 tenant administration
Real experience running EDR/AV, MFA, firewall, VPN, and backup platforms — not just specifying them
Experience responding to cyber-insurance applications and questionnaires, or to enterprise customer security audits
Practical judgment about when to build, when to buy, and when to accept risk

Strongly preferred

Experience supporting OEM, software-redistribution, or regulated-customer flow-down requirements (SBOM, ECCN, DPA, supplier-risk assessments)
Familiarity with SLSA, SBOM tooling (Syft, Grype, or similar), or code-signing infrastructure
Security certifications (CISSP, CISM, Security+, CCSP) or equivalent demonstrated expertise
Experience with NetSuite as an environment (not as an administrator)

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $95,000 – $120,000 commensurate with experience

On-site in Richardson, TX (no relocation assistance at this time)
Reports to the CTO; regular working exposure to the CEO, CFO, and the board on security and compliance matters
