We are a successful Mexican company dedicated to the production and distribution of dietary supplements, with presence in more than 19 countries worldwide.

As part of our growth and international expansion, we are opening our third manufacturing plant, located in Allen, Texas. Therefore, we are looking to add to our team a:

QUALITY SYSTEMS ENGINEER
(Quality Systems Engineer)

Job Summary

Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the Quality and Food Safety Management System at Omnilife Manufacturing USA, ensuring compliance with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulatory requirements and alignment with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). This role is responsible for preventing food safety risks and ensuring the production of safe food products.

Responsibilities

Implement and maintain the Quality and Food Safety Management System in compliance with Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Part 111, Part 117, FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act), and HARPC (Hazard Analysis and Risk-Based Preventive Controls), ensuring legal and regulatory compliance and the production of safe products for human consumption.
Design and implement a Food Safety Plan through hazard analysis and preventive controls management.
Establish processes to verify and validate preventive process controls.
Develop and maintain documentation for the Quality and Food Safety Management System.
Establish methodologies for managing quality and food safety deviations.
Develop and maintain a supplier selection and approval program.
Manage supplier audits and evaluations.
Document and maintain the plant’s traceability and recall system, as well as establish crisis management procedures in case of product recalls.
Establish training programs on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, preventive controls, HARPC, FSMA, and system documentation.
Lead FDA inspections and external audits (certification bodies, customers), as well as any additional audits related to the Quality and Food Safety Management System.
Develop and maintain an internal audit program.
Manage the plant’s document control system, ensuring availability, control, updates, and continuous improvement.
Perform other related duties as required by operational needs.

Requirements

Bilingual in English and Spanish (mandatory)
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (especially Excel)
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Pharmaceutical Chemistry (QFB), or related field
3 to 5 years of experience in Quality and Food Safety Management Systems
Preventive controls knowledge
HARPC expertise
Knowledge of food safety regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Knowledge of quality standards
Auditing principles

Important

Travel requirement: Availability to travel to Mexico for initial job training

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, or related field (Required)

Experience

3 to 5 years of experience in Quality and Food Safety Management Systems
Preventive controls
Food safety regulations and GMP
Quality standards

Language

English (fluent, non-negotiable) (Required)
Spanish (fluent, non-negotiable) (Required)
