Full Job Description

CPA or Enrolled Agent — Tax Preparation & Tax Planning

Abundi Tax Planning Services is growing, and we are looking for an experienced CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) to join our tax team.

We are looking for someone who is technically strong in tax preparation but also enjoys looking beyond the tax return to identify planning opportunities and help clients make better financial and tax decisions.

The ideal candidate will have experience preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1120-S, 1065, and 1120, and be comfortable working directly with business owners and individual clients.

Responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing federal and state income tax returns, researching tax issues, identifying tax-planning opportunities, assisting with year-round tax projections and strategies, responding to client questions, and working with our team to improve the overall quality and efficiency of the tax process.

We are particularly interested in someone who is comfortable using technology and interested in helping us build a more efficient, modern tax practice. We use Lacerte and other cloud-based accounting, document-management, workflow, automation, and AI-enabled tools. Experience with Lacerte is strongly preferred but not required for the right candidate.

Qualifications: Active CPA license or Enrolled Agent credential; strong individual and business tax experience; ability to prepare and/or review complex returns; solid understanding of S corporations and partnerships; good written and verbal communication skills; and the ability to work independently while collaborating with the rest of the team.

This can be an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to become more involved in tax planning and advisory work, rather than spending their career focused exclusively on compliance.

Compensation will be competitive and based upon experience and the nature of the position. We are open to discussing full-time, part-time, or flexible arrangements with the right person.
