Full Job Description

Position: Accounting Manager

Location: Arlington, VA (On-site)
Compensation: Starting at $100,000+ (negotiable based on experience)

About the Role:

DC Burger Inc. is seeking a driven Accounting Manager to lead our accounting team and support the financial operations of our growing multi-unit restaurant group. This critical role will oversee day-to-day accounting functions, manage a team of 2–3 Staff Accountants, and collaborate closely with leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong performance.

What You’ll Do:

Lead and Manage Accounting Operations: Oversee daily accounting activities, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (A/P), Accounts Receivable (A/R), and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Supervise and Mentor: Provide guidance and support to a team of 2–3 Staff Accountants, fostering their professional growth and development.
Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Data Analysis: Analyze financial data and provide actionable insights to leadership for informed business decisions.
Ensure Accuracy: Monitor banking activity and financial reporting to ensure the integrity of financial information.
Support Audits: Play a key role in supporting audits and maintaining compliance with GAAP standards.
Process Improvements: Identify opportunities for process improvements and assist in scaling accounting operations to meet the demands of growth.

What We’re Looking For:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Experience: 5+ years of relevant accounting experience with prior management or team leadership experience.
Knowledge: Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.). Experience with Workday is preferred but not required.
Industry Experience: Experience in the restaurant, hospitality, or multi-unit environments is advantageous.
Attributes: Detail-oriented, highly organized, and a proactive “go-getter” mindset.
