Part-Time After-School Nanny Needed:Takoma Park, DC 20012Start Date: 07/06/2026Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 2:00–6:00 PM; Wednesday 1:00–6:00 PMHours: 21 hours/week minimum, with opportunity for additional hours during school closuresPay: $35–$40/hour (W-2 payroll)

A loving family in Takoma Park, DC is seeking a reliable, neuro-affirming, and experienced part-time nanny to care for their vibrant 6-year-old daughter starting in July. The position includes school pickup (using the family’s vehicle), driving to therapies and extracurriculars, and providing after-school care at home.

About the Child:This bright, funny, artistic, and talkative 5-year-old thrives with a caregiver who is patient, flexible, creative, and understands neurodiversity. She responds best to calm confidence, open communication, and someone who is comfortable supporting speech therapy and navigating occasional behavioral needs with compassion and skill.

Primary Responsibilities:

Pick up from school in Montgomery County at 3:00 PM (Wednesday at 1:45 PM)
Drive to scheduled therapies and activities
Engage in creative and developmentally supportive play at home
Support child with daily routines (e.g., unpacking lunchbox, washing hands)
Light home assistance related to the child (e.g., child’s laundry, tidying up after snacks or play)

Ideal Candidate:

Confident and safe driver with a clean driving record
Neurodiversity-affirming, patient, and enthusiastic about working with children with special needs
Experienced in supporting children with autism, especially with speech/language development (MANDATORY)
Comfortable with feedback, collaborative with parents, and committed to consistent communication
Fun, flexible, and dependable

Additional Requirements:

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
5+ Years of professional childcare experience
Must be willing to be paid on the books (W-2 via payroll company)
COVID-conscious: vaccinated and willing to test for flu/COVID if symptomatic (tests provided)
Able to commit to a long-term, part-time role
CPR and First Aid Certified
