Executive Director of Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention (EIBI)

Career Connections Recruiting is partnering with a well-established, mission-driven organization specializing in autism and behavioral health services to identify an experienced Executive Director of Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention (EIBI).

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an accomplished operational leader who can oversee a comprehensive EIBI program while driving strong clinical outcomes, staff performance, regulatory compliance, organizational culture, and financial performance.

The Executive Director will provide strategic and operational leadership for the EIBI program and work closely with executive leadership and other departments across the organization to ensure children and families receive high-quality, coordinated services.

Position Overview

The Executive Director of EIBI is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and performance of the Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention program. This individual will oversee program operations, staffing, quality improvement, financial performance, compliance, and organizational initiatives while creating a positive, accountable, and high-performing workplace culture.

The ideal candidate combines strong operational and financial leadership with an understanding of autism services, behavioral health, and/or Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

Key Responsibilities

Provide overall leadership and oversight of the EIBI program, including client enrollment, client progress, program outcomes, staffing, productivity, professional development, project planning, reporting, policies and procedures, and financial performance.
Establish and monitor program goals, performance expectations, and key performance indicators.
Analyze program trends and implement continuous quality improvement initiatives designed to strengthen outcomes, reduce risk, and improve operational performance.
Ensure staffing levels and schedules effectively support the needs of children and families served by the program.
Oversee regulatory, waiver, quality, incident, risk, claims, and compliance requirements.
Develop and monitor quality improvement plans and ensure agency policies and procedures are consistently followed.
Ensure staff qualifications, credentialing, and training requirements remain compliant with applicable standards.
Lead performance management initiatives, including staff development, performance evaluations, corrective action, and identification of training needs.
Develop performance metrics and tools for measuring individual, team, and program performance.
Build and maintain highly engaged, accountable, and effective teams.
Collaborate with executive leadership in the development of the annual program budget.
Monitor financial performance against budget, analyze variances, manage expenditures, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Support strong audit outcomes, claims management, reconciliation, and overall financial health of the program.
Identify opportunities to improve programming, engagement, service delivery, and skill development for individuals receiving services.
Drive achievement of both strategic and tactical objectives across the EIBI program.
Partner with leaders throughout the broader organization to ensure aligned goals, strong clinical outcomes, and seamless pathways of care.
Represent the organization in community meetings, interagency initiatives, work groups, conferences, exhibits, and other external partnerships.
Build and maintain positive relationships with families, referral partners, community stakeholders, and other external organizations.
Maintain a strong understanding of the clinical principles, interventions, and implementation practices that form the foundation of the organization's autism services.
Complete additional leadership responsibilities as organizational needs evolve.

Leadership Responsibility

This position provides direct supervision and leadership to program management personnel and is responsible for supporting the overall performance and development of the EIBI leadership team.

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor's degree in a related human services, behavioral health, healthcare, education, business, or service-oriented field.
Minimum of 5 years of leadership and administrative experience.
Previous experience at the Program Director level or in a comparable program leadership position.
Demonstrated experience managing people, programs, operations, and organizational priorities.
Strong financial acumen, including experience with budgets, financial performance, expense management, and operational metrics.
Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, projects, teams, and deadlines.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and common business technology platforms.
Ability to meet all applicable pre-employment, regulatory, training, health, and safety requirements.

Highly Preferred:

Experience supporting individuals with autism and/or developmental disabilities.
Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and autism service delivery.
Leadership experience within behavioral health, human services, healthcare, education, or a related service environment.
Experience within a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.

Schedule

This is a full-time, exempt leadership position, generally requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week. Scheduling is based on program and organizational needs. Some evening, weekend, or holiday availability may occasionally be required.

The position may also require travel between organizational locations and participation in community or stakeholder meetings.
