We have an immediate full-time career opening for a Staff Accountant - General Ledger & Full Accounts Payable at our growing company. The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing and owning the full Accounts Payable cycle, supporting month-end and year-end close, preparing journal entries, performing bank and general ledger reconciliations, maintaining accurate vendor accounts, supporting audits, and ensuring the accuracy of the Company’s financial records.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Manage and own the full Accounts Payable process, including invoice review, coding, approvals, three-way matching, vendor payments, and payment reconciliations.

2. Support and actively participate in month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring assigned closing deadlines are met.

3. Prepare and post month-end journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, depreciation, reclassifications, and other account adjustments.

4. Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations.

5. Prepare, maintain, and update monthly balance sheet schedules and account reconciliations with appropriate supporting documentation.

6. Analyze general ledger accounts, investigate variances and discrepancies, and prepare necessary correcting entries.

7. Reconcile intercompany transactions and balances across multiple entities.

8. Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules and prepare related monthly journal entries.

9. Assist with prepaid expense schedules, accrual schedules, and other recurring month-end accounting schedules.

10. Assist with cash flow management and weekly payment runs.

11. Support internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules and supporting documentation.

12. Work closely with Operations, Purchasing, Logistics, and other departments to resolve accounting discrepancies.

13. Assist in preparing financial reports, account analyses, and supporting schedules for management.

14. Cross-train and provide backup support for other accounting functions as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

✓ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.

✓ Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.

✓ Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and generally accepted accounting principles, and ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls.

✓ Extensive Accounts Payable experience, including vendor reconciliations and payment processing.

✓ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Sage experience is a plus.

✓ Experience with month-end close, bank reconciliations, and general ledger reconciliations.

✓ Strong understanding of journal entries, debits and credits, accruals, fixed assets, and depreciation.
