Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED. Six months of experience in the receipt, storage, issuance and filing of records are required. Must possess a Driver license. Must be able to lift and handle items weighing up to 50 pounds.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Record Center Clerk 1 is responsible for retrieving and refiling records that are stored within our facilities and assisting with the preparation of records for systematic destruction. Employees in this position are responsible for not only exercising care in releasing information and files only to authorized people but also for withholding release in instances where court order or other action is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Receives the daily workload from the superiors, retrieves folders or lose documents from boxes stored within the facility based on file number, ensures that records contain a court order when necessary, and documents such findings.
Assists superiors in the preparation of records for systematic destruction and provides accurate and complete documentation.
Refiles loose documents in the respective boxes and assists in reshelving of records by moving boxes using lifts and ladders as needed.
Assists in performing aisle maintenance.
Compiles their daily work statistics for their superiors.
Ensures that the unit's work standards are met.
Additional related duties may be assigned in the absence of the immediate supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in operating warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, ladders, conveyor belts, and industrial shredders.
In-depth knowledge of warehouse operations and computer applications, such as Microsoft Office.
Adequate written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to retrieve appropriate documents and exercise care of all records stored within the facility.
Ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work is primarily performed in a cold warehouse environment. This position requires some time at a computer and extensive physical work, including standing for long periods of time, walking, and the ability to lift boxes weighing up to 50lbs. throughout the day.
