Position Summary

RHL Companies is seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to oversee environmental compliance, permitting, reporting, and field operations across all company projects. This role ensures adherence to federal, state, and local environmental regulations while supporting safe, sustainable, and efficient operations. The Environmental Manager will lead environmental programs, manage inspections, coordinate with regulatory agencies, and support project teams with technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee environmental compliance for all RHL Companies operations, including construction, transportation, waste handling, and site activities.
Manage environmental permits (air, water, waste, stormwater, erosion control, wetlands, etc.) and ensure timely renewals and submissions.
Conduct site inspections, audits, and environmental assessments to ensure regulatory compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
Develop, implement, and maintain environmental policies, SOPs, and training programs.
Serve as the primary point of contact for environmental regulators and consultants.
Lead spill response, incident investigations, and corrective action planning.
Manage waste streams, recycling programs, and hazardous materials handling.
Support project managers with environmental planning, permitting, and compliance documentation.
Maintain accurate records, logs, and compliance documentation for audits and inspections.
Monitor environmental KPIs and provide regular updates to leadership.
Ensure company operations meet or exceed EPA, DEP, OSHA, and local environmental standards.
Provide environmental training to employees, supervisors, and field teams.
Support sustainability initiatives and continuous improvement efforts across the organization.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Geology, or related field.
3–5+ years of environmental compliance or environmental management experience.
Strong knowledge of EPA, DEP, NPDES, RCRA, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, and related regulations.
Experience with environmental permitting and regulatory reporting.
Ability to conduct field inspections and environmental assessments.
Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in construction, industrial services, waste management, or transportation industries.
Certifications such as:
OSHA 30
HAZWOPER 40
Erosion & Sediment Control (CPESC or equivalent)
Stormwater Management certifications
Experience managing environmental consultants or contractors.

Familiarity with GIS, environmental modeling tools, or compliance software.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
