Full Job Description

Overview

Elite Vascular Care is seeking an experienced, dependable, and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) – Procedure Nurse to join our growing Vascular and Interventional Radiology practice.

This position plays an important role in our procedure team, working directly alongside our physician to provide safe, efficient, and exceptional patient care before, during, and after minimally invasive procedures.

Position Responsibilities

The Procedure Nurse will be responsible for:

Assisting the physician during vascular and interventional radiology procedures
Administering moderate (conscious) sedation under physician direction and in accordance with applicable regulations, facility policies, and scope of practice
Administering medications as ordered and directed by the physician
Continuously monitoring patients during procedures, including vital signs, oxygen saturation, cardiac rhythm, level of consciousness, and overall patient condition
Recognizing and responding appropriately to changes in a patient's clinical condition
Maintaining accurate and timely nursing documentation
Assisting with pre-operative patient preparation and assessment as medically necessary
Assisting with post-procedure recovery and monitoring as medically necessary
Providing patient education and discharge instructions
Maintaining patient safety, comfort, privacy, and dignity throughout the procedural experience
Following infection-control, medication-safety, emergency-response, and procedural safety protocols
Collaborating closely with the physician and other members of the clinical and procedure team
Assisting with additional clinical responsibilities related to patient care and procedural operations as needed

Required Qualifications

Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
Current BLS certification
Current ACLS certification
Ability to safely administer moderate/conscious sedation within applicable scope-of-practice requirements
Strong patient assessment and clinical monitoring skills
Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to emergency situations
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a close-knit procedural team
Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care

Preferred Experience

Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable:

Interventional Radiology
Vascular procedures
Cardiac catheterization lab
Operating room
Ambulatory surgery
Procedural nursing
Moderate/conscious sedation
Pre-op and PACU/recovery nursing
