Summary
As a Quality Assurance Manager at Arnott Inc., you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality across our manufacturing processes. This position is essential to maintaining our reputation as the industry leader in air suspension products and will be based in Merritt Island, Florida.
Responsibilities
1. The primary responsibility for this role is to ensure that all products have been tested and fall within standards and are measured to specifications and within tolerance; he/she devises departmental testing procedures and directions for recording and reporting quality data.
2. The Supervisor provides technical and process direction to production Quality Inspectors. He/she analyses and resolves, or assists workers in solving work problems; oversees the implementation of quality standard programs and processes to improve operational efficiencies and reduce/eliminate production waste and HOLD product; and trains employees on SOP’s.
3. The position is responsible for conducting hazard analyses; identifying critical control points and preventive measures; monitoring procedures, corrective actions and verification procedures. She/he assists with identifying and resolving problems; completing audits; determining system improvements; and implementing change as needed.
4. He/she validates quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; writes and updates quality assurance procedures. Develops and recommends test procedures for products and maintains test equipment.
5. The position prepares quality documentation reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations.
6. He/she supervises the handling of incoming, in-process, and completed product for conformance to engineering specifications and other specified requirements; reviews visual and dimensional verifications and notifies the Quality Assurance Manager of any problems or areas of concern.
7. The Supervisor ensures staff have tested all products and that they fall within standards, measure to specifications and within tolerance; and devises departmental sampling procedures and directions for recording and reporting quality data. Continuously works to improve performance based on the key performance indicators
8. The position samples products per requirements to ensure the proper inspections, tests and reports are maintained; recommends changes to improve product quality. Compiles and analyses test information to determine operating efficiency of process or equipment and to diagnose malfunctions.
9. The QA Supervisor ensures staff adheres to the Quality Management System (QMS), the procedures set forth by adopted Standards Certifications (ISO, TS-16949, AS9100…), and official company policies/ guidelines. He/she may be assigned to participate-in or lead quality audits, Corrective/Preventive Action efforts, training sessions, or similar programs. Obtaining and maintaining certain professional licenses, certificates, diplomas, education, or personal capabilities may be required.
10. The Supervisor is responsible for employee relations with assigned staff. He/she manages this activity through effective communications, staff meetings, coaching and by providing feedback to staff, both formal and informal, that is geared toward professional growth and/or performance improvement. He/she uses positive management techniques to direct and develop staff.
11. He/she recruits, trains, coaches and counsels assigned staff; communicates performance expectations; plans, monitors, appraises, and reviews performance; and adheres to the Company’s policies and procedures.
Position Requirements
These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the position in a satisfactory manner. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.
- Bachelor or Associate’s degree preferred, and three years of prior experience in quality assurance for a consumer product manufacturer; or any combination of education and experience. Two year’s supervisor experience is preferred. Experience with ISO in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Must possess experience with quality management and audit systems: quality inspection, auditing and testing experience: experience with implementation of corrective action for quality program; knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of QA
- Good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to co-workers.
- Strong process orientation: Detail oriented, logical, and methodological approach to problem solving. Ability to read, analyze and interpret detailed drawings, models, and technical procedures and deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
- Excellent organization and time management skills and the ability to work with minimum supervision while performing duties.
- Basic mathematics skills required. Advanced math skills preferred. Working knowledge of Geometric tolerances strongly preferred (GD&T); strong computer skills needed
- Experience with Conformity Inspection Plans, Quality Plans, Research and Development or Engineering Projects is required. Must be capable of performing close-tolerance inspection and demonstrate above-average mechanical aptitude
