Senior Tax Accountant / Tax Manager

A Professional mid-sized CPA firm with two locations in sunny Vero Beach and Sebastian, FL is looking for a Tax Senior or Manager. This position could be in-office, hybrid or remote.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tax Senior or Manager to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax preparation, review, planning for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts. This individual should be very organized, dependable, professional, and a quick learner. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with clients and provide strategic tax advice, contributing to their financial success.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and review state and federal tax returns, extension requests and projections for closely held businesses, individuals, partnerships, estates, trusts and non-profits including extensions, along with required quarterly estimated payments
Prepare adjustments and workpapers, analyze and review financial statements for closely held companies mainly utilizing QuickBooks, either for financial reporting purposes or tax returns
Conduct tax research and stay current on tax laws and regulations.
Provide tax planning and consulting services to clients.
Identify and implement tax-saving strategies for clients.
Assist with IRS and state tax audits and notices.
Mentor and supervise junior staff members, providing guidance and support.
Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless client service, workflow and workloads.
Assist Audit Manager on audits
Correspond and communicate with taxing authorities as needed (IRS and states)

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Demonstrated expertise in Trust and Estate taxation, including compliance and planning.
EA, CPA or CPA candidate
Minimum of 5 years of relevant tax experience in public accounting.
Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
Proficiency in tax software (e.g., UltraTax) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Experience with tax research tools (e.g., CCH, RIA Checkpoint) is a plus.

Position requirements:

EA, CPA or CPA candidate
Bachelors or Master’s Degree in accounting or tax
Strong verbal and written communication skills
5+ years of recent tax return preparation or auditing within a public accounting firm

8 hour shift
