Overview:

Messenger and Transporter

At Good Samaritan, we are committed to delivering exceptional, compassionate care to our community. The Messenger & Transporter plays a vital role in maintaining these high standards of efficient hospital operations.

Job Details:

Responsibilities:

Ensures timely, secure, and accurate delivery of mail and packages across all hospital units and departments
Supports frontline healthcare staff through reliable logistics and excellent customer service
Organizes incoming mail, memos, and packages by department, unit or floor
Navigates designated hospital routes to deliver mail directly to nursing units, offices, and clinics
Gathers outgoing and interoffice mail from units during scheduled rounds
Logs high-priority, overnight, or confidential deliveries requiring signatures
Picks up and delivers medical records as needed
Pick up specimens from units to bring to Lab as needed

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Prior experience in a hospital, mailroom, or courier environment is a plus
Ability to quickly learn and navigate a large, complex hospital layout
Strong organizational skills to maintain strict delivery schedules
Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours, push mail carts, and lift packages weighing up to 30–50 lbs

Posted Salary Range: USD $24.00 - USD $26.00 /Hr. :
