Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized *Accounting Clerk* to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will support various accounting functions, including data entry, account reconciliation, and financial record management, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong accounting and finance experience to contribute to a dynamic organization that values integrity, confidentiality, and professional growth. Proficiency in multiple accounting software systems is essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

Perform data entry of financial transactions into accounting systems with high accuracy and attention to detail.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment posting, and customer account management.
Support financial reporting activities by compiling data for financial statements and conducting Excel data analysis for various reports.
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies, respond to inquiries related to financial data, and ensure timely processing of transactions.
Support audit preparations by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to account reconciliations or journal entries.

Qualifications

Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with familiarity in corporate accounting or non-profit accounting environments.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite—particularly Excel for data analysis and spreadsheet management—and familiarity with accounting systems integration.
Knowledge of technical accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, balance sheet reconciliation, general ledger management, and journal entries.
Excellent numeracy skills coupled with the ability to perform 10 key typing efficiently for accurate data entry.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
Effective communication skills for customer service interactions within internal teams or external vendors.
Prior experience handling accounts payable/receivable processes and performing account reconciliation is highly desirable.

This position is ideal for candidates seeking a challenging role that combines technical accounting expertise with practical application in a professional environment committed to integrity and excellence in financial management.

Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
