Job Summary:
The Finance Director will oversee the accounting, financial control, and the overall financial health of the organization, which includes, managing the back-office operations, the organization’s internal budget and finances, providing oversight of investment opportunities and revenue cycles, developing financial strategies, as well as leading a small administrative team.
What You'll Do
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Provides day to day leadership, guidance and oversight of employees involved with finance, accounting, billing and other revenue functions.
- Evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions such as promotion, discipline, attendance, compensation and termination
- Assists in staff recruitment including interviewing, selection, and training in a proactive and productive manner
- Assures timekeeping and payroll requests of staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations
- Works to promote and recognize performance and foster professional development
- May be needed outside of normal scheduled work hours
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintains full integrity of all revenues, ensuring organization policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws and regulations, are followed (including 501c3 compliance as needed).
- Ensures optimal financial operations within the company and its clients including all payables and receivables
- Create, update, and implement standard workflows, manuals, and operating procedures for finance, accounting, billing, and other revenue cycles.
- Establishes KPIs and metrics for the various departments based on productivity and cost goals
- Monitors and advises on interventions needed for the revenue cycle and the various revenue streams including patient billing, Vidaplus, contractual payments, etc
- Supervises the operation of the payroll department for accuracy and timeliness
- Prepares monthly and quarterly management and financial reporting for the company and its clients
- Compiles fiscal estimates and prepares fiscal reports as requested.
- Participates in strategic data analysis, research, and modeling for the company and its clients
- Supports project analysis, validation of plans, and ad-hoc requests
- Manages the company’s financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems
- Creates and monitors cost-analysis, budgets, projections, and forecasts as needed for the company and its clients
- Analyzes the variation between actual and estimated budget and produces reports for the Board of Directors to make decisions.
- Implements processes that encourage and inform the organization how to increase levels of reimbursements.
- Assists leadership team in identifying financial improvement opportunities with the facilities
- Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the revenue cycles and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.
- Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
- Actively participates in the negotiation and contracting with vendors, payers, partners, etc.
- Ensures all department duties, responsibilities, and goals are met in a timely manner.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required. Master’s Degree and additional certifications (i.e. CPA, CMA, CFA) are a plus
- 5 – 8 years of progressive accounting and finance experience including management of teams or individual staff required
- Advanced competency in application of complex and in-depth business knowledge related to Strategic Finance including knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), billing and finance and extensive experience interpreting analytical results and providing recommendations on solving business problems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite inclusive of advanced computer, database, and spreadsheet skills
- 3+ years of experience working in an outpatient healthcare setting is a plus
- Ability to plan, organize and lead the work of others, while developing department goals and objectives consistent with organizational vision and strategies.
- Ability to think analytically, apply analytical techniques and to provide in-depth analysis and recommendations to senior management using critical thinking and sound judgment.
- Proven ability to work with all levels of the staff and management, both as a self-starter and in a team environment.

Pay: $106,425.83 - $126,761.50 per year
