Full Job Description

Title: Data/Customer Support

Department: Human Resources

Reports to (Title): Assistant Director of Human Resources

Major Functions:
Performs highly responsible, specialized duties in coordination with the functions that are necessary for
employee data processing with latitude for exercising judgment and discretion. Work requires initiative and
judgment planning.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Greets visitors/public coming into the Human Resources Department by providing assistance with

routine questions or directing visitors to the appropriate parties.

Answers departmental phone lines and routing calls to the appropriate person after determining the

nature of the call.

Answers departmental inquires and assists in problem solving in accordance with general instructions.
Prepare and mails outgoing correspondence and information.
Schedules meetings and arranges appointments.
Processes the Personnel board approval information and print labels for personnel folders.
Enters board approved data from the board agenda into Munis.
Reset employee passwords in Munis Self-Service.
Pull all resignations for board approval.
Monitors and addresses technology tickets as it relates to Human Resources.
Maintains district substitute data information for both certified and classified staff and billing

information for approved staff.

Liaison between Kelly Educational and the schools.
Responsible for updating and maintaining employee information and/or status changes with Kelly

Educational.

Responsible for completing and submitting requisitions for approved Kelly Educational substitute

positions as needed.

Provides duties which may include typing, photocopying, filing, faxing, and scanning documents.
Maintains and updates files for personnel records which include daily filing and scanning of active and

inactive employee information for Human Resources.

Resets passwords in Munis Self-Service
Responsible for processing name changes for all employees.
Maintains and monitors the SafeSchools training website, which includes adding new hires,

transferring and deactivating employees, reporting incomplete assignments to principals, monitoring
required assignments for completion, and assigning new training as requested.

Maintains large electronic filing system in the Human Resources Department.
Responsible for providing support while maintaining a high level of professionalism and working to

establish a positive rapport with all individuals.

Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the

supervisor or superintendent

Adhere to the Mississippi Code of Ethics
Maintain confidentiality and privacy of all Desoto County Schools’ records

Knowledge and Abilities:
• Record-keeping techniques.

Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.

Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.

Work independently with little direction.

Knowledge of DCS policies and procedure.

Excellent communication skills.

Ability to multi-task.

Exceptional Organizational Skills.

Ability to work in a fast-pace work environment.

Ability to meet deadlines.

Excellent computer skills:

o Microsoft Word
o Microsoft Excel
o PowerPoint
o Munis

Plan and organize work.

Possesses understanding and knowledge of HR procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

Graduation from high school or possession of a GED, plus two (2) years of diversified clerical office
experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Pass the district clerical test.
Computer proficient. Knowledge of Microsoft Office needed. Must have highly proficient language abilities;
visionary, organizational skills and ability to communicate clearly.
