Full Job Description

Seeking Full-Time Fluent Spanish Speaking Bilingual Paralegal for Memphis office. Paralegal will support the Immigration Attorneys to prepare various aspects of client's immigration case. They will also serve as a back-up receptionist When the receptionist is out of office.

Responsibilities include:

Â· Assisting attorneys in document review and all aspect of case preparation;

Â· Preparing and conducting intakes and assisting with filling out of intake forms, if needed;

Â· Drafting immigration forms for review by attorneys;

Â· Corresponding with clients and/or government officials;

Â· Responsible for document collection, maintaining and updating;

Â· Making sure filing deadlines are met;

Â· Updating client information in case management software;

Â· Translating documents at the request of the attorneys;

Â· When serving as a back-up receptionist, duties include answering calls, greeting clients, taking detailed, informative messages and giving them to the appropriate person, scheduling appointments, completing general office tasks, including copying, filing, and faxing and light data entry.

Â· Assisting file manager to manage the files and filing.

Skills and Qualifications:

Â· High School Education or GED required;

Â· Legal work status required;

Â· Law office environment experience preferred (6 months to 1 year);

Â· Bilingual in Spanish and English (written and oral) required - must be fluent;

Â· Ability to work independently to manage a substantial workload with deadlines;

Â· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;

Â· Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding all case and client information;

Â· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Ability to learn immigration software;

Â· Strong interpersonal and competent communication skills. Respect for others and sensitivity to the needs and legal issues affecting people of diverse backgrounds;

Normal work hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm (M-F). Compensation varies on work experience. Benefits offered include medical, dental, vision, paid time off.
