Full Job Description

An established healthcare organization is looking for an experienced A/R Consultant to provide support across accounts receivable operations. This position will assist with billing follow-up, payment resolution, collections activity, and communication with internal teams and outside partners. The successful candidate will bring strong billing knowledge, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to help strengthen financial workflows.

In this role, the A/R Consultant will monitor open balances, research account issues, and assist with resolving billing or payment discrepancies. The position supports cash flow objectives by working closely with operational and finance teams to improve processes, enhance reporting, and promote timely account resolution.

This opportunity is well suited for a resourceful, hands-on professional who communicates clearly, exercises sound judgment, and takes a service-oriented approach to supporting billing and collections functions.

· Train office managers on billing processes for Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, supplemental plans, hospice, and private payers.

· Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations while providing accounts receivable support to office managers on key processes.

· Assess current accounts receivable processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.

· Develop and implement best practices for invoice management, follow-up, and collections.

· Conduct regular account reviews to identify delinquent balances and prioritize collection efforts.

· Collaborate with cross-functional departments to align billing procedures and resolve account discrepancies.

· Prepare detailed reports on accounts receivable performance, trends, and key metrics.

Requirements

· Must be willing and able to travel as business needs require.

· Proven experience and success in skilled nursing billing.

· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.

· Minimum of five years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, or financial consulting.

· Strong knowledge of accounts receivable principles, practices, and collection strategies.

· Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

· Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

· Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and external partners.

· Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
