Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and highly experienced Admissions Coordinator to assist our healthcare admissions operations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of medical office management, healthcare practice management, and team supervision. This position does require an active LPN or RN license. You will oversee patient intake processes, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and manage administrative and clinical staff to deliver exceptional patient care and operational efficiency.

Duties

Maintain updated bed availability, coordinating room assignments, and ensuring all necessary paperwork and signatures are completed prior to admission.
Maintain inquiries from families, hospital discharge planners, and referral sources, providing timely and profession follow-up to ensure smooth transitions for new residents.
Develop and implement strategic plans for admissions and patient intake processes across healthcare settings.
Oversee medical records management, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Collaborate with nursing, housekeeping and business office staff to coordinate room assignments, communicate special needs of new residents.
Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as EMR/EHR software to streamline patient management workflows.
Coordinate with medical professionals to facilitate effective utilization management and acute care services.
Monitor patient management software for scheduling, documentation, and billing accuracy while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
Extensive experience in medical office management, healthcare practice management, or clinic administration.
In-depth understanding of medical terminology, medical records handling, and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
