Overview
We are looking for a commercially strong Business Development Manager with existing relationships across HR departments, people teams, recruiters, and talent decision-makers.
This role is for someone who currently or previously has sold HR software, recruitment services, payroll products, employee benefits, background checks, training programs, outsourcing services, or other solutions targeted at HR and talent teams.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving new business, building a qualified pipeline, managing client relationships, and converting HR teams, recruitment firms, startups, SMEs, and enterprises into active Cloutra customers.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Revenue Growth
- Identify, engage, and convert prospective customers across HR departments and people teams, in recruitment firms, startups, SMEs, and enterprise organizations.
- Leverage existing relationships with HR leaders, recruiters, talent acquisition teams, heads of people, and business decision-makers.
- Build, manage, and convert a strong sales pipeline from prospecting to deal closure.
- Conduct targeted outreach through existing networks, referrals, LinkedIn, email, calls, events, trade fairs, conferences, and partnerships.
- Lead discovery conversations, product demos, commercial discussions, and negotiations.
- Translate Cloutra’s product capabilities into clear business value for HR and talent teams.
Strategy & Market Development
- Develop and execute Cloutra’s business development strategy across target customer segments.
- Identify priority industries, customer segments, channels, and partnership opportunities.
- Provide market intelligence on HR buying behavior, competitor activity, pricing expectations, and customer pain points.
- Help refine Cloutra’s go-to-market strategy, sales messaging, pricing approach, and positioning.
- Recommend growth opportunities based on customer feedback, market trends, and sales data.
- Work with leadership to define revenue targets, sales priorities, and market expansion plans.
External Representation & Partnerships
- Represent Cloutra at industry events, trade fairs, HR conferences, business forums, exhibitions, and networking events.
- Build relationships with HR communities, recruitment agencies, consultants, accelerators, business groups, and ecosystem partners.
- Identify and secure strategic partnerships that can support lead generation, distribution, brand visibility, and customer acquisition.
Reporting & Performance
- Maintain accurate records of leads, prospects, sales activity, and deal progress.
- Provide regular updates on pipeline status, revenue forecasts, client feedback, and market opportunities.
- Track performance against agreed sales, revenue, partnership, and market development targets.
- Prepare periodic business development reports for management review.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in B2B sales, business development, partnerships, commercial strategy, or account management.
- Must have existing relationships with HR departments, people teams, recruiters, talent acquisition leaders, HR managers, or heads of people.
- Must have experience selling products or services to HR teams or recruitment decision-makers.
- Proven ability to leverage relationships to generate leads, book meetings, and close deals.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute business development or go-to-market strategy.
- Strong understanding of HR, recruitment, talent acquisition, workforce management, or employee-related business needs.
- Experience selling SaaS, HR tech, recruitment services, payroll solutions, employee benefits, learning and development, background checks, outsourcing, or related products is highly desirable.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Comfortable representing a company at events, trade fairs, conferences, and senior stakeholder meetings.
- Ability to manage a sales pipeline independently and consistently follow through.
- Commercially analytical, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable growth initiatives.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment.
- Familiarity with CRM tools, LinkedIn prospecting, email outreach, and sales reporting is an advantage.
Compensation
Compensation for this role is between $30,000 and $50,000 per annum + uncapped commission.
Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
