Join our dynamic team as a Full Time Road Crew Technician/Operator and become a vital part of maintaining and improving our civil infrastructure! This energetic role offers the opportunity to work outdoors on essential highway maintenance, including but not limited to snow plowing, grading, ditching, road construction and repair, roadside mowing, tree trimming, equipment maintenance, and other projects. Duties
- Operate heavy machinery including loaders, graders, and dump/plow trucks to support road construction and maintenance activities
- Perform routine inspections and mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal operation
- Conduct traffic control for work zones when needed to ensure safety for workers and the public
- Follow FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations during commercial truck driving tasks
- Engage in manual handling and heavy lifting to move materials and equipment safely on-site
Skills Preferred
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as loaders, graders, and plow/dump trucks
- Strong knowledge of construction site safety protocols and adherence to OSHA standards
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy machinery maintenance and troubleshooting
- Skilled in using power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and manual handling techniques
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations for commercial vehicle operation and safety compliance
- Outdoor work experience in construction or highway maintenance environments
- Capable of heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks over extended periods
- Familiarity with construction projects and working within civil infrastructure roles
