About the Role
We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced facial plastic surgery practice. This role combines hands-on clinical responsibilities with a concierge-level approach to patient care. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and takes pride in anticipating the needs of both patients and providers while helping the clinic run seamlessly each day.
Work Schedule
Monday–Friday, (32-40 hours/week)
In-person only — Menlo Park, CA
Compensation
Competitive hourly rate of $30-$35 based on experience
Responsibilities
Clinical Patient Care
- Room patients and document medical history, medications, and other relevant health information in the EMR.
- Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures.
- Assist with pre-operative appointments and post-operative patient care.
- Provide compassionate, attentive support to patients throughout their visit.
- Go above and beyond to ensure every patient has an exceptional experience.
Procedure & Provider Support
- Assist physicians with minor in-office procedures.
- Prepare treatment rooms, medications, instruments, and supplies according to clinic protocols.
- Provide timely, organized support to providers throughout the day.
- Anticipate provider needs and help maintain efficient clinic flow.
Clinical Operations
- Monitor the daily schedule to anticipate workflow and ensure smooth patient flow.
- Communicate effectively with physicians and team members regarding patient care and scheduling needs.
- Respond promptly to patient messages, prescription refill requests, prior authorizations, and laboratory results.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation within the electronic medical record.
Sterilization, Equipment & Inventory
- Clean, sterilize, and maintain instruments in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Ensure exam and procedure rooms remain fully stocked and prepared throughout the day.
- Maintain medical equipment according to manufacturer recommendations and clinic standards.
- Assist with inventory management and supply ordering.
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification required.
- Minimum of one year of Medical Assistant experience required.
- Experience in plastic surgery, dermatology, ENT, ophthalmology, or another surgical specialty is preferred.
- Experience using an electronic medical record (EMR/EHR).
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive, proactive attitude and a genuine passion for providing exceptional patient care.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, cosmetic and surgical procedures, and skincare and prior experience in aesthetics, dermatology, plastic surgery, or luxury hospitality a plus
