Full Job Description

We are looking for a proactive, results-driven Medical Biller to manage our revenue cycle and ensure our practice's financial health. In this role, you won't just enter data—you will take ownership of the claim lifecycle, maximize our clean claim rate, and ensure timely, accurate reimbursement from commercial payers and government programs. If you are a sharp problem-solver who takes pride in resolving complex claim denials and maintaining flawless HIPAA compliance, we want you on our team.

Key Responsibilities

Claim Optimization: Review and analyze clinical documentation to ensure accurate code selection before generating and submitting electronic and paper claims.
Payer Lifecycle Management: Track and aggressively follow up on aging claims, managing the clearinghouse pipeline to prevent any revenue leakage.
Denial Resolution: Investigate, correct, and appeal denied or underpaid claims, identifying root causes to prevent recurring billing errors.
Communication & Support: Act as the primary point of contact for patients and insurance representatives to clarify benefits, resolve billing discrepancies, and establish payment plans with empathy and clarity.
Compliance & Records: Ensure 100% adherence to ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines, as well as strict maintenance of patient confidentiality under HIPAA regulations.

Requirements & Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of dedicated medical billing experience within a fast-paced medical practice or billing agency.
Technical Proficiency: Strong, hands-on experience using modern EHR/EMR platforms (e.g., eClinicalWorks, Epic, Athenahealth) and clearinghouses.
Industry Knowledge: Mastery of standard billing forms (CMS-1500), insurance verification processes, prior authorizations, and the coordination of benefits (COB).
Analytical Mindset: Exceptional attention to detail with a proven track record of maintaining a high clean-claim percentage and lowering overall days in A/R.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to navigate difficult financial conversations with patients gracefully.
Credentials (Preferred): Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) designation is a major plus.
