Full Job Description

Saw Operator/Material Handler

Reports to: Production Manager Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary

The Saw Operator/Material handler will primarily spend their days operating a firewood processor, driving forklift, and operating a front end loader.

Employment Standards

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Must possess strong attention to detail skills.
Must have experience operating forklift.
Experience operating heavy equipment preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to promote and maintain a strong working team culture.
Ability to handle pressure in a fast paced environment with minimal direction and supervision.
Demonstrate a firm commitment to provide consistently exceptional performance.
Possess effective time management and multi-tasking skills.
Must be self-motivated and able and willing to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, in accordance with business needs.
Present a quality oriented image where every interaction is conducted in a courteous manner.
Be a positive role model for all team members providing support and enthusiasm.
Must be able to stand, bend down, and stoop low for up to 9 hours a day.

Principal Responsibilities

Operate a firewood processor in a fashion that meets company standards.
Operate a forklift in all areas of the company up to and including loading/unloading semi trailers.
Operate a front end loader to load logs onto firewood processor.
Maintain high standards of company rules and regulations.
Assist in training new team members at a level consistent with company standards.
Assist in following and enforcing safety standards and compliance with Beaver Creek Wood Products Employee Manual.
Identify and correct conditions that may affect employee and customer safety.
Identify opportunities for improvement and escalate recommendations to management.
Other responsibilities and tasks as assigned.
