Job Description
Wax Injector (2nd Shift)
Location: Painesville, OH
Shift: 2nd Shift | 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Status: Hourly
Reports To: Department 610 Supervisor / Wax Process Engineer
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Wax Injector to join our manufacturing team on 2nd shift. In this role, you will be responsible for producing high-quality wax patterns used in the investment casting process while ensuring production goals, quality standards, and safety requirements are met.
The ideal candidate is dependable, quality-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Previous casting or wax injection experience is a plus, but candidates with strong manufacturing experience and mechanical aptitude are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Relevant manufacturing experience may be considered in lieu of formal education requirements.
Experience
Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing or production operator experience.
Previous investment casting, foundry, or wax injection experience preferred.
Experience using hand tools, inspection tools, racks, tables, boxes, and production equipment.
Knowledge of measuring and gaging equipment, including calipers, height stands, and bridge gauges.
Understanding of basic manufacturing principles, including flow characteristics, pressure, viscosity, and process control.
Experience working in a safety-focused production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Inject wax patterns, gates, and sprues using both light and heavy dies.
Operate wax injection presses and related equipment efficiently and safely.
Maintain wax levels in presses and melting pots to support continuous production.
Inspect patterns, gating systems, and sprues to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Clean plugs and perform routine wax preparation activities.
Assist engineering and maintenance teams in maintaining equipment performance and process consistency.
Conduct basic press inspections, including checks of seals, filters, oil levels, and other operating components.
Support press calibration activities and assist with engineering validation efforts.
Run and support engineering trials involving wax parameters, pins, cores, and process improvements.
Ensure standard operating procedures (SOPs) and engineering procedures are followed consistently.
Organize work areas to maximize efficiency, throughput, quality, and safety.
Maintain accurate production and inspection records as required.
Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe at all times.
Follow all company safety policies, environmental requirements, and hazardous material handling procedures.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
