Full Job Description

Talkov Law is seeking a California attorney with zero to six years of litigation experience to handle real estate partition actions throughout California. This fully remote position offers substantive litigation experience, significant case responsibility, structured training, monthly performance bonuses, regular opportunities for salary increases, and a path to leadership and partnership.

The position is open to newly admitted attorneys, 2026 law school graduates taking the California Bar Examination, and litigators with up to six years of experience. Newer attorneys will receive training and supervision, while more experienced attorneys will be expected to independently manage cases and exercise greater strategic responsibility.

About Talkov Law

Talkov Law is California’s first and largest law firm focused on partition litigation. We represent property owners in disputes involving high-value homes, investment properties, inherited real estate, and conflicts between family members, former partners, and business associates.

Our firm has handled more than 600 partition matters throughout California. We operate fully remotely using litigation systems, automated workflows, established templates, and case-management processes developed specifically for partition actions.

The pace is fast, the work is substantive, and attorneys receive meaningful responsibility.

About the Role

Attorneys manage or assist with partition actions from the initial complaint through settlement, buyout, sale, or judgment.

The work includes legal writing, discovery, negotiation, motion practice, client counseling, and courtroom advocacy. Trials are uncommon and attorneys will have the opportunity to learn from the firm's partners in the rare cases that go to trial.

The attorney will assume primary responsibility for an active caseload. Responsibility increases as the attorney demonstrates sound judgment, reliable case management, strong legal work, and the ability to independently move cases toward resolution.

Responsibilities

Manage and assist with partition actions from initial evaluation through settlement, buyout, sale, or judgment
Draft complaints, answers, discovery, motions, settlement agreements, and other litigation documents
Analyze ownership rights, reimbursements, credits, rental value, improvements, and other accounting issues
Develop litigation strategy and make recommendations regarding case direction
Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, referees, brokers, experts, and other professionals
Conduct and defend depositions
Prepare for and appear at hearings, case management conferences, settlement conferences, and very infrequent trials
Evaluate settlement opportunities and advise clients regarding risks, costs, and likely outcomes
Maintain accurate deadlines, case records, and strategic case plans
Use the firm’s established litigation systems, templates, and workflows
Contribute to improvements in the firm’s litigation processes, technology, and training materials

Qualifications

Active membership in the California State Bar, or eligibility for admission following the California Bar Examination
One to six years of civil litigation experience
Strong legal research and writing skills
Excellent judgment, organization, and attention to detail
Ability to manage deadlines and multiple active matters
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients and opposing counsel
Willingness to accept responsibility for case outcomes
Ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment
Interest in real estate litigation and developing expertise in a specialized area of law

Prior experience drafting motions, conducting discovery, appearing in court, or managing clients is preferred for more experienced applicants but is not required for entry-level candidates.

Experience in real estate litigation, probate litigation, business litigation, or disputes involving ownership and accounting issues is helpful but not required.

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range is $150,000 to $220,000 per year, depending on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated ability.

Attorneys also receive performance bonuses and salary increases for meeting or exceeding expectations.

Work Environment
