The Labor & Delivery unit operates as a busy regional hub within Women’s Services, encompassing L&D, maternity, perinatal services, and a comprehensive birthing center environment. The Assistant Nurse Manager Labor and Delivery Nights provides frontline operational oversight during high-volume evening hours, balancing patient flow, staffing acuity, and clinical excellence across triage, labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum recovery. Physicians, midwives, anesthesia, NICU, and ancillary teams collaborate closely, creating a cohesive care model where leadership presence matters. This leader will influence throughput, quality metrics, patient safety initiatives, and staff engagement while maintaining meaningful decision-making authority on shift. The role blends clinical credibility with operational command—ideal for a nurse leader who thrives in fast-paced maternal-child health settings.

Reporting to the Nurse Manager of Women’s Services, the Assistant Women’s Services Manager partners with executive nursing leadership, charge nurses, obstetric providers, and support departments to drive performance and professional development. Responsibilities include real-time staffing decisions, coaching and performance management, quality improvement initiatives, policy implementation, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. The Perinatal Assistant Nurse Manager serves as the operational anchor on nights—visible, decisive, and empowered to act in alignment with organizational strategy while shaping team culture and accountability.
