Job Overview
White Birch Home Services is hiring an experienced Handyman / Carpenter to complete residential repairs, maintenance, and light remodeling projects throughout the Meredith area.
This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone with at least three years of professional residential handyman, carpentry, remodeling, or light construction experience.
The right candidate can work independently, troubleshoot problems, communicate professionally with homeowners, and complete clean, high-quality work without constant supervision. You must be dependable, organized, and comfortable working inside occupied homes.
Responsibilities
- Complete general home repairs and maintenance
- Perform carpentry work, including trim, framing, repairs, and finish work
- Install and repair LVP, laminate, hardwood, and similar flooring
- Complete basic plumbing repairs, including fixture replacements, minor leaks, and small component replacements
- Replace outlets, switches, light fixtures, and other basic electrical components within the permitted scope of the job
- Diagnose common household problems and recommend practical solutions
- Review work orders and plan the tools and materials needed for each job
- Complete projects efficiently while maintaining quality standards
- Keep customer homes and job sites clean, organized, and safe
- Communicate clearly with homeowners and team members
- Report changes in project scope, material needs, or job conditions
- Represent White Birch Home Services professionally on every job
Required Qualifications
- At least three years of professional residential handyman, carpentry, remodeling, or light construction experience
- Strong hands-on carpentry skills
- Experience installing residential flooring
- Working knowledge of basic plumbing and electrical repairs
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable transportation is a must
- Basic personal tool set
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Professional appearance and customer-service skills
- Reliable attendance and daytime availability
- Ability to commute to Moultonborough, NH and surrounding areas
- Ability to safely perform physical construction work, including lifting, carrying, climbing ladders, kneeling, and working on your feet
