About the Position
As a Senior Field Technician, you'll play a critical leadership role in delivering successful AV installations while mentoring and supporting fellow technicians in the field. This position is ideal for an experienced installer who thrives in a hands-on environment, leads by example, and enjoys tackling complex installation challenges.
You'll work on a variety of commercial AV projects, coordinating closely with Project Managers, customers, and field teams to ensure every system is installed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. What You Will DoJob
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret installation drawings, signal flow diagrams, rack elevations, and technical documentation.
- Lead installation activities while maintaining Level 3 AV's quality and workmanship standards.
- Perform structured cabling installation, routing, labeling, and documentation.
- Terminate and test AV cabling, including crimp, solder, and captive screw connections.
- Install and support displays, projectors, screens, cameras, microphones, speakers, and related AV technologies.
- Fabricate equipment racks and perform equipment staging and testing.
- Coordinate with Project Managers and field teams to ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Promote and enforce safe work practices, including proper PPE usage and jobsite compliance.
- Train, mentor, and support junior technicians while helping build a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Communicate project updates, challenges, and site conditions to project stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
Education and Certifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- AVIXA CTS certification required.
- AVIXA CTS-I certification preferred.
- OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications required.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of commercial AV installation experience.
- Proven experience leading installation crews or serving as a lead technician.
- Experience reading AV drawings, signal flows, and technical documentation.
- Strong knowledge of commercial AV installation standards and best practices.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to work from ladders, lifts, and in confined spaces.
- Ability to safely work at heights exceeding 40 feet while utilizing fall protection.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and up to 75 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to distinguish colors, read technical documentation, and recognize audible signals.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools and power tools.
- Valid driver's license and ability to legally operate a motor vehicle.
- Willingness to travel and work overtime as project needs require.
