Teen Club MTS / Front Desk
Employment Type: Part-Time, Hourly
Schedule: Monday–Friday, after-school hours (typically 2:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m.)
Additional hours may be available during summer, non-school days, trainings, special events, and extended Teen Club programming hours. Teen Club extended hours may include Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. for High School Members.
Position Summary
The Teen Club Member Tracking Service (MTS) / Front Desk Staff serves as the primary point of contact for Teen Club Members, families, school partners, and community members at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Rogue Valley Teen Club location. This position plays a critical role in creating a safe, welcoming, organized, and teen-friendly environment while supporting daily front desk operations, membership management, attendance tracking, parent communication, and teen engagement.
This role works closely with middle school and high school youth at the off-site Teen Club location and serves as an important liaison between the Teen Club and the Grants Pass Clubhouse. The Teen Club MTS position requires strong communication skills, relationship-building abilities, and an understanding of teen development, independence, and behavior management.
The Teen Club MTS staff member must have a strong understanding of Club registration systems, parent portal communication, and Teen Freedom policies in order to support both families and staff while maintaining appropriate supervision and accountability for teen members.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Member Tracking & Front Desk Operations
- Maintain the front desk during after-school and Teen Club programming hours
- Manage accurate member check-in and check-out procedures
- Track daily attendance and ensure member records are complete and up to date
- Maintain accurate financial, attendance, and membership documentation
- Answer phones and respond professionally to parent, school, and community inquiries
- Support enrollment, registration, membership renewals, and required documentation processes
- Assist families with navigating registration systems and parent portal access
- Develop a strong working knowledge of membership software and Teen Club operational systems
- Ensure all front desk systems, procedures, and safety protocols are consistently followed
Teen Club Operations & Teen Engagement
- Build positive relationships with middle school and high school members
- Help create a welcoming, respectful, and engaging atmosphere specifically designed for teens
- Maintain understanding and consistent implementation of Teen Freedom policies and procedures
- Support teens in understanding expectations around independence, sign-in/sign-out procedures, movement within Teen Club spaces, and behavioral expectations
- Assist staff in monitoring teen attendance, participation, and transitions during programming
- Support extended Teen Club hours and evening programming opportunities for high school members
- Encourage positive teen interactions, leadership, and responsibility within the Teen Club environment
Liaison & Communication Responsibilities
- Serve as a communication liaison between the Teen Club site and the Grants Pass Clubhouse
- Share attendance updates, registration information, and operational needs with leadership and program staff
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding memberships, schedules, attendance, and Teen Club expectations
- Collaborate with Teen Club staff, Program Directors, and leadership to support smooth daily operations
- Maintain professional relationships with school staff, community partners, and families
Safety & Supervision
- Help ensure the emotional and physical safety of all Club Members
- Monitor arrivals and departures to ensure proper authorization and accountability
- Understand and implement Teen Freedom procedures while maintaining safe supervision practices
- Communicate safety concerns, behavioral issues, or irregularities promptly to leadership staff
- Support emergency procedures and Club safety plans
- Clean and sanitize front desk and common areas daily
Customer Service & Communication
- Communicate daily with parents/guardians, teen members (grades 6–12), and staff
- Interact professionally with donors, vendors, volunteers, board members, school officials, and community partners
- Maintain a calm, positive, professional, and approachable demeanor at all times
- De-escalate tense situations and help maintain a positive Teen Club environment
- Provide strong customer service while balancing structure, accountability, and relationship-building with teens
Safe, Positive Environment
- Create a welcoming, inclusive, organized, and teen-friendly first impression of the Teen Club
- Model respectful communication, professionalism, and positive behavior
- Uphold Club rules, Teen Freedom expectations, and behavioral standards consistently
- Help foster an environment where teens feel safe, respected, supported, and connected
Teamwork & Club Support
- Work collaboratively with Youth Development Professionals (YDPs), Program Directors, Teen Club staff, and leadership
- Share attendance updates and member information as needed to support programming and safety
- Assist with overall Teen Club and Clubhouse operations when necessary
- Assist with coordinating field trips, teen events, and special programming opportunities
- Participate in staff meetings, ongoing & required trainings, and professional development
- Assist leadership with community outreach events, family nights, and teen engagement opportunities
- Support transitions and communication between the Teen Club and Grants Pass Clubhouse
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
Preferred:
- One year of experience in customer service, data entry, youth development, or front desk operations
- Preferred candidates will demonstrate strong maturity, professionalism, and ability to maintain appropriate boundaries while working with teen members.
- Minimum 2–3 years experience working with teens preferred
- Prior leadership experience in youth programs strongly preferred
- Experience with registration systems, databases, or parent communication platforms
- Understanding of teen behavior, relationship-building, and positive youth development practices

Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- High-noise, fast-paced environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods at the front entrance
- Ability to walk, sit, and stand throughout the shift
- Ability to lift, carry, stoop, crouch, and handle materials up to 25 pounds
