Please be advised: Uesco Industries is currently based in Alsip, IL, but we have an exciting strategic relocation planned. We will be moving our headquarters and manufacturing operations to a new facility in Hammond, IN in 2027. We are looking for a long-term team member who is willing and able to commute to the Hammond location when this transition occurs.

The Opportunity
We are seeking a talented Drafter / Designer to join our engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will turn concepts into reality. Your drawings serve as the blueprint for our production floor, ensuring that every crane and runway system we build meets our rigorous standards for precision and safety.
This role requires more than just basic drafting; we need a specialist who can visualize complex mechanical systems in 3D. You will collaborate closely with engineering and production to ensure our designs are not only innovative but flawlessly executable.
What You Will Do
- 3D Design & Modeling: Utilize Autodesk Fusion 360 to create detailed, manipulatable 3D models of crane components and runway systems.
- Technical Drafting: Produce comprehensive approval and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD, ensuring strict adherence to precision and accuracy standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work directly with our engineering and production teams to validate designs, troubleshoot potential manufacturing issues, and ensure seamless execution from the screen to the shop floor.
- Documentation: Maintain organized records of design revisions and project specifications.
What We Are Looking For
- Software Expertise (Critical):
- Autodesk Fusion 360: You must possess extensive knowledge and mastery of creating and manipulating 3D drawings in Fusion 360. This is a primary requirement for this role.
- AutoCAD: Proficiency in AutoCAD (2019 or later) is required.
- Experience: A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in drafting or design is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience with structural steel, overhead material handling equipment, or heavy machinery is highly preferred.
- Computer Skills: Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) is a plus.
- Commute Reliability: Must be able to commute to our current Alsip, IL facility and our future Hammond, IN location (beginning 2027).
