Full Job Description

The Company

This 31-bed Long Term Acute Care Hospital serves a medically complex patient population requiring extended hospitalization. It is a home away from home for patients requiring additional care and therapy, beyond what a traditional hospital is equipped to provide. Leaders of this hospital strive to create a comfortable and caring environment, with a goal of helping patients regain their independence.

With a growing portfolio of hospital locations, this organization is a Top-5 Post-Acute hospital system, known for excellence, integrity, community, and compassion. Leaders, caregivers, and all other team members contribute to the company mission including an unyielding commitment to patients, people, and the pursuit of healing.

The Position

Reporting to the hospital CEO, the Clinical Liaison is primarily responsible for cultivating and nurturing relationships with key referral sources and assessing patients for appropriateness in the hospital’s service area. The Clinical Liaison supports the hospital’s marketing team in establishing relationships with local hospitals, key departments, administrative, and medical leadership. The Clinical Liaison is actively involved in communicating, educating, and serving the community, assisting referring entities and referral sources with the placement of patients requiring Long Term Acute Care.

Additional responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Participating in planning and creating the market’s strategic, operational, service design and other organizational plans and policies to achieve the mission and vision of the local market in concert with the CEO
Assisting in identifying special projects including, but not limited to, physician recruitment and retention, marketing issues, new program implementation, and adjustments to regulatory modifications
Assisting with the development and execution of the hospital-specific Physician Development Plans
Targeting appropriate physicians and organizing efforts in acute care hospitals
Identifying and developing relationships with key physicians and other potential leadership
Developing rapport with local hospital management and local decision makers
Managing a territory
Account planning and management
Accomplishing plan goals within outlined timeframes
Pre-assessing and screening patients to determine eligibility for Long Term Acute Care
Facilitating patient admission through assessment collection, communication, and coordination of information

The Successful Candidate

The successful candidate will possess knowledge, skills, and abilities to play a key role in the census development function of the hospital. These competencies include, but are not limited to, the following:

Clinical background and license to practice in Louisiana as an RN, LVN, RT, PT, OT, SLP, or LCSW
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Minimum of 2 years’ sales and development experience in a referral-driven post-acute environment
Strong sales abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational & analytical skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to gain confidence of team members, patients, families, and referral sources quickly
Excellent time management skills and practices; ability to prioritize activities
Excellent problem-solving skills and sound judgment
Ability to work as a member of a team
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Proficiency with MS Office and common web applications
Self-motivated, self-starting personality
Positive mental attitude
