Full Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Dietary Director to lead our food service and nutrition programs with enthusiasm and precision. In this vital role, you will oversee all aspects of dietary operations, ensuring that residents or patients receive exceptional, nutritious meals tailored to their individual needs. Your leadership will foster a collaborative environment, promote food safety and health regulation compliance, and drive continuous improvement in dietary services. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the well-being of those we serve while managing a dedicated food service team.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive care plans that incorporate specialized nutrition strategies for residents or patients.
Manage food service operations, including menu planning, food production, and ensuring high standards of food safety management and hygiene practices.
Supervise and lead food service teams, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations to promote a motivated and efficient workforce.
Ensure compliance with all health regulation policies and health code standards related to food service health and safety.
Conduct patient or resident assessments to determine dietary needs, including tube feeding protocols, diagnostic evaluations, and physiology-based nutrition plans.
Oversee budget management for the dietary department, including purchasing, inventory control, and cost-effective resource allocation.
Utilize electronic health records (EHR) systems to document care plans, track nutritional progress, and coordinate with healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes.
Stay current with industry best practices in clinical nutrition, acute care experience requirements, and food safety management to enhance service quality.

Skills

Proven leadership skills with experience managing food service teams in assisted living or healthcare settings.
Strong knowledge of dietetics, clinical nutrition, physiology, and care plan development tailored to individual needs.
Expertise in managing budgets effectively while maintaining high-quality food production standards.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and care coordination purposes.
Excellent supervisory skills with a track record of team management and staff development.
Deep understanding of health regulation policies related to food service health code compliance and safety standards.
Experience in managing tube feeding protocols and performing diagnostic evaluations related to nutrition.
Knowledge of food safety management practices to ensure the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation are maintained at all times.
