Job Overview

Join our team as a Dietary Aide and become a vital part of providing compassionate, high-quality nutrition care in a dynamic healthcare setting. In this energetic role, you will assist in meal preparation, food service, and maintaining a safe and sanitary environment for residents and staff alike. Your dedication will help ensure that our residents receive nutritious, well-presented meals tailored to their dietary needs, fostering comfort and well-being every day. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary skills while making a meaningful difference in the lives of geriatric patients.

Duties

Prepare and serve meals according to specified dietary requirements, ensuring adherence to safety and sanitation standards.
Assist with food production, including portioning, plating, and presentation of meals for residents.
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, dining areas, and food handling surfaces in compliance with food safety regulations such as JCAHO standards.
Support dietary department operations by stocking supplies, organizing storage areas, and managing food inventory.
Follow safe lifting practices during heavy lifting tasks and manual handling to prevent injuries.
Work collaboratively with nursing staff to accommodate special dietary needs and restrictions for residents.
Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to workplace safety protocols at all times.

Requirements

Previous experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred.
Knowledge of food preparation techniques, sanitation standards, and safe kitchen practices.
Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Strong time management skills to handle meal schedules and multiple tasks effectively.
Familiarity with dietary requirements for geriatric or special populations is a plus.
Basic math skills for portioning and inventory management.
Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with residents and staff.
Certification in CPR and knowledge of food safety practices are desirable but not mandatory; training can be provided.
Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods while maintaining attention to detail.
